    K9 Medic Program

    The goal of this specialized course is to equip K9 Handlers, Medics, Vet Techs or Veterinarians with the skills and knowledge they need to effectively prevent, assess, extract and treat Working Service K9s in hostile and wilderness environments.


    2 Days of Real World K9 Medic Training:

  • Multidisciplinary Approach including the best of TEMS and VEMS
  • Muscle Memory Drills
  • Hands-on stations treating actual Working K9s
  • Cadaver Station for Invasive Procedures
  • Realistic Real World Scenarios Customized to Team Requirements
  • Including TacMed, Military, Private Security, USAR and Wilderness

    Curriculum:

  • Move to Safety, Muzzle the Dog, Massive Hemorrhage
  • Airway, Oxygen Admin and Cardiac Emergencies (including ACLS)
  • Hypothermia, Heat and Hydration Injuries
  • Fluid therapy including IV Access and Subcutaneous Bolus
  • Paw, Nose and Eye Care, Toxicity, Poisons, Snakebites and Bloat
  • Burns and Smoke Inhalation, Pharmacology including Pain Management
  • K9 Down Extractions, Evacuations and Patient Report
